Neste's Porvoo refinery operations are located in the Kilpilahti industrial area. Production is highly automated and modern – in fact, the plants are among the most advanced in Europe. Porvoo also has two units producing NEXBTL renewable diesel.
In Porvoo, the refining capacity of crude oil is approximately 10.5 million tons per year, or 206,000 barrels per day. In addition to crude oil, also other feedstocks are transported to Porvoo, resulting in a total production capacity of approximately 13.5 million tons a year.
The overground and underground tanks in Porvoo contain almost 8 million cubic meters of storage capacity for feedstocks and products. Neste also has an oil terminal in Porvoo. It is the largest port in Finland in terms of tonnage, with about 1,100–1,400 ships a year calling.
