Ex-President of the Republic of Finland Tarja Halonen is a protector of our 60th EOQ Congress as well as the opening speaker on June 1st.

Tarja Halonen was the 11th President of the Republic of Finland 2000-2012 and Finland’s first female head of state.

 

This Congress will be a joint effort of European Organization for Quality, International Academy for Quality and Finnish Quality Association and will be held on June 1st and 2nd 2016 in Helsinki, Finland.

This congress is the 60th anniversary for EOQ, 50th for IAQ and 50th for the Finnish Quality Association.

This international congress will examine quality from the leadership perspective, quality management and competitiveness research and development both locally and internationally. Key participants are top management, strategic management, quality and development directors, business excellence leaders, controllers and executives and experts of continuous improvement from all over the world with weight in European participants.

The main theme of the congress is Quality Enables Growth and Competitiveness. Growth means getting bigger or expanding market share of organizational influence; however more is needed to achieve competitiveness. Competitiveness implies development or getting better at the key purpose for an organization – improvement that is differentiated or delivery of truly attractive quality. This theme for the 60th Annual Congress of the European Organization for Quality will probe into the meaning behind this theme in a number of related areas.

EOQ is an autonomous, non-profit making association under Belgian law. The EOQ is the European interdisciplinary organization striving for effective improvement in the sphere of quality in its broadest sense acting as the coordinating body and catalyst of its National Representative Organizations (NRs). Finnish Quality Association
Finnish Quality Association, founded in 1966, is an ideological non-profit making association. At the end of 2014 altogether approx. 500 Finnish private- and public sector organizations are members of the association, with thousands business developers and opinion leaders actively participating in the association’s activities.
